This is an archive of as much make documentation as I can get my hands on.
Particularly the various variants and implementations of make that
MakeMaker tries to be compliant with.  Its purpose is to act as an easy
reference for MakeMaker developers in supporting these variants of make and
for others who may also be trying to write cross-make code.

Where possible I am archiving a copy of the docs rather than linking to
another web site.  Sites get restructured, companies get bought and
documentation has a habit of disappearing.  I have tried to retain as much
author and copyright information as possible.

I realize some of this documentation is for commercial products and as such
may have restrictive copyrights and terms of use prohibiting its public
display on another web site.  However, I have some faith that the companies 
in question won't send lawyers after a Free Software project archiving 
documentation for their products in an effort to make it a little easier 
for that project to bend over backwards to support their products for free.
